This week, the representatives of Coca-Cola HBC Česko a Slovensko took over the first 68 of a total of 430 vehicles purchased under operative leasing from Volkswagen Financial Services. The vehicles include ŠKODA SUPERB, OCTAVIA, SCALA, and FABIA models, the absolute majority of which are plug-in hybrids and CNG-powered cars. The sustainability of activities is a key issue for Coca-Cola HBC Česko a Slovensko. In addition to the vehicles, Volkswagen Financial Services also provides comprehensive maintenance services through the authorized network of ŠKODA AUTO dealers.

The vehicles will be handed over gradually in several phases. Coca-Cola HBC Česko a Slovensko will initially receive 68 ŠKODA brand vehicles in 68, of which more than half will be CNG-powered (5 x OCTAVIA CNG, 33 x SCALA CNG), while the rest are plug-in hybrids (25 x SUPERB iV, 5 x OCTAVIA iV). During the course of 2021, 300 more vehicles will gradually be delivered, amounting to two-thirds of the planned total number. “Climate-related measures are crucial to us. By 2030, we intend to reduce our absolute emissions for direct operation and production by 55% compared to the reference year of 2017 across the entire Coca-Cola HBC company. In cooperation with our partners, this change of the vehicle fleet will help to reduce emissions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia by 20%,” says Dan Timotin, CEO of Coca-Cola HBC Česko a Slovensko.

“Corporate customers are the clear leaders in ECO-mobility on the Czech market. This delivery of more than 400 vehicles for Coca-Cola HBC sends a clear signal to other companies that alternative-fuel cars are the right choice for all corporate customers seeking a way to reduce operating costs and still hesitating whether to buy CNG, plug-in hybrids or electric cars,” says Volkswagen Financial Services executive Vratislav Strašil.

“Cooperation between ŠKODA AUTO and Coca-Cola HBC dates all the way back to the Favorit model. To this day, we have delivered over 5,000 cars. We are delighted that this partnership is going forward with the latest alternative-fuel vehicles, including the iV versions with plug-in hybrid power, which are environmentally friendly,” Jiří Maláček, Direct of the Czech representation of ŠKODA AUTO, evaluates years of cooperation.

“This year, we are celebrating 15 years of highly successful cooperation with our long-term partner Coca Cola HBC Česko a Slovensko. We are looking forward to the next phase of our partnership, which I hope will last at least another 15 years. Thank you,” concludes Martina Nimčová, an executive for the main car supplier Škoda NH Car, s.r.o.

The company’s ambitions geared towards sustainable business are further affirmed by its choice of purely digital reporting and billing of costs. Coca-Cola HBC is also extremely attentive to the safety of employees during travel, which is why all the vehicles are equipped with the most advanced safety elements such as driver fatigue monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, line-assist, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, and wireless SmartLink. What’s more, all the vehicles are equipped with a GPS tracking system through which the company can monitor the carbon footprint of the individual cars and propose measures towards greater driving efficiency. In addition to the vehicles themselves, Volkswagen Financial Services also meets all the needs related to their operation, such as regular maintenance, tire replacement, substitute cars in the case of regular repairs or unexpected incidence, pick-up service, and resolving insurance claims.

The vehicles will chiefly serve the company’s representatives, area sales managers, and middle management employees in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
